Someone left a comment on the YouTube version of this week’s Sporting Class that made sense to me. I will typically refer to the shows I host with Meadowlark co-founder John Skipper and Nothing Personal’s David Samson as RichGuys OnlyFans — people with money showing their subscribers what others are too nervous to.

But Creed0022 hit on a key part of the dynamic:

If you press play on this episode, I think, you’ll feel that almost immediately. There is tension in these tapings, and open disagreement, even pent-up resentment, but everyone loves being at this table. That’s an essential thing.

We can go from David’s insane solution to the problem of the locked-up items at Walgreens; to the story of a new sports streaming service, killed before it ever launched; to a zoomed-in photograph of John, in attendance at Trump’s inauguration in 2016, that makes me laugh every time I think about it now.
