The Paralympics is the most feel-good event of the entire sports calendar, and I don’t think that race is particularly close. It’s a global celebration of athletes who’ve overcome a wide range of disabilities and impairments — and the Games are held in the same host city as the Olympics, weeks after the Closing Ceremony, in the same venues where we just watched the Olympians compete.
The whole thing is a terrific, admirable premise.
But the reason I asked our favorite long-haired investigative journalist, Tim Rohan, to spend months of his life helping us report today’s episode is because this story is about what the Paralympics doesn’t want you to know.
Which is that many Paralympians have been engaged in a ridiculous, widespread fraud known as “classification doping” — for decades.
And that two whistleblowers are on a mission to finally change things.
DKN/YOUTUBE SPOILER ALERT:
Absurdly,
