You may have heard that two American astronauts — Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams — are stuck in space.
They have been stranded, thanks to a series of Boeing technical disasters, at a place known as the International Space Station. Where their eight-day test mission will now stretch into an eight-month ordeal. Ending, according to NASA, in February 2025.
So what I wanted to find out today is what being stuck in space actually entails.
Which brings us to an astronaut — and former Little League coach — named Terry Virts.
Terry held what I believe to be the most sci-fi job title in American history: Commander of the International Space Station.
Which is also known as the largest space station ever built. In fact, Terry helped build the ISS. And it’s now the place where those two astronauts got stranded.
Just like he was.
