How Science Ruined Grief
EPISODE 103: Laughing about the saddest sentence in the English language.
I did not bring Michael Cruz Kayne onto the show because he can sing and dance and improvise and win Peabody Awards as a writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Which is all true. (You’ll see.)
Michael is here because exactly a year ago, this week, I got tickets to see a one-man show he performed, called Sorry for Your Loss, which is now available on Audible.
And ever since then I’ve wanted to talk to Michael about what I watched. About how he designed and architected it; how it grew out of a podcast he used to do; and how he managed to make something profoundly risky, running the full gamut of human emotion. Leaving a mark on me unlike pretty much any show I can recall.
